Maxeon’s 2024 Sustainability Report: Powering Positive Change for a Brighter Future

Author: Frank Jeng, Chief Legal and Sustainability Officer

At Maxeon, sustainability isn’t a marketing term—it’s our mission. That’s why we’re pleased to share our  2024 Sustainability Report, a comprehensive overview of our progress, achievements, and ongoing dedication to being one of the world’s most socially responsible and environmentally conscious solar companies.

The past year has been one of transformation, as we’ve repositioned our business for long-term success in the face of significant financial challenges, while continuing to uphold our commitment to Powering Positive Change. This year, our report highlights not only the strides we’ve made but also the recognition we’ve earned for our industry-leading sustainability efforts.

A Year of Recognition and Leadership in Sustainability
In 2024, Maxeon climbed the ranks among the world’s Most Sustainable Companies, moving from a Top 50 position to an impressive #22, as recognized by Corporate Knights. This accolade underscores our unwavering commitment to sustainability, which has become a key differentiator for Maxeon in the solar energy sector.

Our efforts didn’t stop there. Esteemed organizations like MSCI and ISS also acknowledged our dedication, awarding us an AA rating and a Prime rating, respectively, in their sustainability indices. These recognitions are a testament to the hard work and passion of our team, who are committed every day to supporting climate action and responsible business practices.

Sustainability at the Core of Our Business

Maxeon’s solar panels are trusted by residential, commercial, and utility customers worldwide for their quality, reliability, and efficiency. But we’re more than just a provider of renewable energy solutions—we’re a global leader in sustainability across our operations and products.

Of note is the rapid, positive environmental impact of our products. The energy generated by Maxeon solar panels each year offsets the company’s annual direct greenhouse gas emissions in less than two months. Over their 40-year lifespan, our solar panels contribute significantly to carbon positivity, making a lasting impact in the fight against climate change.

Expanding Transparency and Accountability
Our 2024 Sustainability Report follows internationally recognized reporting standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainable Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). This year, we’ve expanded our reporting capabilities to include environmental data from our offices in the United States and Singapore, further enhancing the transparency and comprehensiveness of our disclosures.

At Maxeon, we hold ourselves to a higher standard. This principle drives not only our sustainability practices, but also the way we report on them—ensuring that our partners, employees, and stakeholders have access to reliable, robust information about our efforts.

Maxeon Gives: Empowering Communities

Sustainability isn’t just about clean energy—it’s about fostering a better world. Through our Maxeon Gives initiative, we empower employees to volunteer in their communities and donate Maxeon solar panels to a variety of organizations, institutions, and charitable causes. This program reflects our belief that sustainability extends beyond doing business; it’s about making a positive impact wherever we can.

Looking Ahead: A Shared Commitment to a Sustainable Future

As we continue our journey toward a more sustainable future, we’re deeply grateful to our stakeholders—both internal and external—for their support. Together, we are powering the transition to clean energy for a brighter world.

Maxeon may be evolving in many ways as we address a challenging business environment, but our commitment to Powering Positive Change remains steadfast. From providing the highest-quality solar products to advancing environmental and social responsibility across our operations, we are proud of the role we play in building a greener, more sustainable world.
